Prepare your evidence
Save the earlier and current XML for the same sitemap, then import both. The report identifies added and removed locations, duplicate entries and lastmod anomalies. Sitemap indexes are compared as indexes; child documents are not downloaded. Investigate unexpected removals and use accurate modification dates. A listed URL is not proof of indexing.
Read the result and check the repair
Start with the observed failures and their evidence. Follow the next action for the affected item, then collect a new report using the same scope. Use the earlier report when this tool supports comparison. Differences between sites, collection windows or test conditions can prevent a meaningful comparison.
